Spent some time at the California Academy of the Sciences this weekend. Lots of great exhibits, but I was also pleased to see plenty of educational signage and signals promoting sustainable practices. Local and organic food served in the cafe, a sign promoting tap water vs. bottled water at the drinking fountain, and a "landfill" bin instead of trash. The roof terrace included some nice displays about the benefits of green roofs, native species, and photovoltaics. But my favorite was the $3 discount on my admission for using public transit to get there. Turns out that bus transfer was worth more than the fare itself!
What other sorts of carrots are out there getting your attention?
